“After the Olympics and the worlds, I didn’t want people in the background, talking behind my back, saying, ‘His skating is good, his footwork is amazing — but he doesn’t have a quad,’ ” Chan recalls.
“I wanted to get rid of that ‘but’ in my skating.”
